  • Complaint statistics
    These reports rank major Oregon insurers and all insurers doing business in Oregon on their complaint records in six types of insurance: personal auto, health, homeowner, life annuities and long-term care.

  • Health insurance in Oregon
    Health Insurance in Oregon, an annual report prepared by the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS), focuses on the role of commercial health insurance in Oregon.

  • Health insurance rate requests
    The state approves rate requests for certain types of health insurance: individual, small employer and portability plans. When an insurer wants to change rates, the company must submit documents justifying its proposal to the Oregon Insurance Division. These documents are posted online as they are received.

  • Health Benefit Plan Reports
    Learn how many Oregonians covered by health benefit plans through a particular company and premium information for Oregon. This report is due annually on April.

  • Health Insurance Member Enrollment report
    Learn how many members a company has by selected lines of business (group versus individual plans). Includes percent of people seeking individual health plans who are turned down by a company (rejection rate) for pre-existing medical conditions. Quarterly reports are due 45 days after the end of a quarter.

  • Annual Patient Protection Reports
    These reports give statistical data on grievances and appeals of insurance company decisions, provider networks, quality improvement plans and utilization reviews. This data is due annually on June 30.

    Chart shows largest insurers by premium for these types of insurance: accident & health, annuities, auto, homeowners, life, medical malpractice, property & casualty, and workers' compensation.

  • Insurance Company Exams
    Read detailed reports on a company's financial condition or its conduct in such areas as claims, underwriting, policyholder service and more.

  • National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
    The NAIC Consumer Information Source (CIS) allows consumers to view key information about insurance companies.
